After the first four team matches, the OFA Girls Varsity Tennis team has seen the league’s best, and is still in position to defend its 2012 STAC Central Division title. After dropping close matches to Norwich and Seton, Owego has rebounded with a 7-0 destruction of Sidney. Currently one game behind division leading Seton, Owego returns to action on Wednesday and Friday, with home matches against SV and CF.
Individually, the third doubles team of Kaitlyn Bartlow and Cayla Harris are off to a great start on their season, winning all three completed matches, and leading in the fourth. Bartlow has been serving and volleying excellently, and Harris, new to the team this year, has been steadily improving every day and is a very good athlete. Also, off to a good start on their season is Coco Heitman (1st singles…2-1 currently). With an improved serve and a more mature mental focus, Coco has been hitting well and won a huge match against the Norwich #1 player.

The Owego Women’s Swimming and Diving team are excited for the season to begin. The team is looking good and is returning 20 of the 22 athletes from last season. The team is looking to defend their Section IV title from last season. It’s not going to be easy with Maine Endwell and Chenango Valley in our Class but we are ready for the the challenge.
