Owego Senior Commits to Binghamton University

NEW YORK  – Adam Blackwell, senior from Owego Free Academy, made his future evident Wednesday, February 4, 2015, by signing his NLI (National Letter of Intent). February 4th marks the first day that high school seniors could sign scholarship papers for the following sports: Football, Men and Women’s Soccer, Water polo (Mens’ only), and more. The National Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between the student-athlete and a college, by which the student-athlete agrees to attend the college for one academic year.

Blackwell will be looking to continue his academic career at Binghamton University and his athletic career playing Soccer for the Bearcats. Here is a list of Adam’s accomplishments:

  • 4 year active member of rotary international interact club
  • GPA of 93.5
  • 30/155 rank
  • Tutors for the National Honor Society
  • Active in his church youth group
  • Member of Varsity Club (4 years)
  • Helps coach travel soccer for kids

  • Active member of Athletic Leadership council
  • Basketball (Varsity last two)
  • Soccer for four years
  • Captain
  • 37 goals and 35 assists
  • All division as a junior.
  • He was nominated 4th team all-state as a senior.
