Almost 200 people gathered at the Treadway on June 19th. The annual event honors senior student-athletes for their contributions, commitment and accomplishments throughout their athletic careers at Owego Free Academy. Every senior was presented with a personalized plaque, OFA Athletics keychain and an OFA sports bag. There were 2 major awards presented as well:
Booster Club Sportsmanship Award
Criteria: A seniorstudent-athlete who can take a loss or defeat without complaint, or a victory without gloating; and who treats His/Her opponent with fairness, generosity, courtesy and respect. This award is based on the merits of character, integrity, fair play and understanding the concept of TEAM.

Male and Female Athlete of the Year (1st Annual)
Criteria: A seniorstudent-athlete who exemplifies the highest standards of Athletic Excellence, Academic Achievement and Exemplary Character. This male and female student-athlete should be one of good standing in and out of school, and looked upon by coaches and peers as a role model and leader. This student-athlete may participate in more than one sport, but is not required to do so.
